    Chiropractic Physician & Owner

Hello, my name is Dr. Joel A. Tate. I am originally from Central Illinois but have been visiting the emerald coast for over 20 years and finally moved down here in 2009. Growing up in a small town was wonderful, everyone knew each other; traditional values were instilled through honesty and hard work. I spent my summers baling hay, working on a farm and suffering through the terrible midwest humidity.

My path to chiropractic is much different than most. I don't have a great success story from when I was a child like some nor was I scarred by the traditional methods of medicine. Mine was more of a fortunate twist of fate. I started my collegiate career inspiring to be an athletic trainer and pursued it for 3 years. Along the way I met an athlete that became a good friend who introduced me to Logan College of Chiropractic. After looking into it and even visiting the campus, I knew it was for me. Upon graduation in December of 2008, I packed up and headed to the white sand beaches of Fort Walton Beach.

Prior to opening Progressive Chiropractic and Rehab, I worked for a multi-clinic organization where I gained experience in all aspects of Chiropractic care. I saw a very broad spectrum of patients, all of which have different symptoms, and each one responds differently than the next. It has taught me to utilize different techniques and different methods of treatment to obtain the best results for that specific patient.

My wife, Leandra, and I are both very family oriented individuals. She is a local to the area and has most of her family here. Recently, some of my family has relocated to the nearby Gulf Shores area and we travel to see them when time permits. Traveling to nearby Port St. Joe is also a favorite weekend escape for us. We enjoy fishing, boating and just being outdoors! I am an avid Florida Gator, St Louis Cardinal and New York Giant fan. I enjoy big trucks and old cars, I love my dogs and I am an extremely optimistic person!

    Practice Manager

Hello, my name is Leandra Tate. I am a native of this area. I was born and raised in Niceville, I graduated from Niceville High School and attended Northwest Florida State College. I grew up enjoying the beauty of the gulf coast and spending lots of time fishing, boating, trail riding and pretty much anything outdoors. I still enjoy all of those things to this day.

My background in the medical field is very broad and started at the young age of 19 when I obtained my certification to be a Nurses Assistant. I went on to become a trained Medical Assistant and began to pursue a career in Nursing. It didn't take long to figure out that although my passion was to be hands-on in the clinic, my skills were much more suited for the administration side of things. I have worked in a variety of medical fields such as Gastroenterology, Pain Management, General Surgery, Spine Surgery, Obstetrics and Gynecology, as well as Chiropractic. I am also a trained Birth Doula and have an immense love for all things pregnancy and birth related.

I am passionate about helping others and my community in any way possible and I enjoy being a part of something that gives me the opportunity to do that for a living!
